This is a very good idea to join those job groups.
In addition to the Yahoo Groups (and Google Groups), to find support groups in other areas, check out:
* Job Search Networking and Support at Job-Hunt.org (http://www.job-hunt.org/job-search-networking/job-search-networking.shtml)
* The Riley Guide Networking and Support Groups (http://www.rileyguide.com/support.html)
CareerJournal.com has a calendar by state of "Career Events" which can include support group meetings (http://www.careerjournal.com/calendar/)
